Loom’s Seminar Oct 2016Ha Trung
LJMU organised three seminars to present some results of the project to colleagues and industrial partners in Liverpool, June 2015, February 2016 and October 2016.
At seminars, LOOM’s researchers, PhD, and research fellows presented and discussed the results in maritime and transportation optimisation. In the recent seminar, Dr. C.T. Ha, a research fellow from Vietnam presented his research on the problem loading goods to containers for real-world cases at industrial partners. A new algorithm and a new loading heuristic have proposed to deal with real constraints. His work is a part of the project “UK-Vietnam institutional link in digital innovation for sustainable maritime logistics in Vietnam” funded by the British Council under the Newton Institutional Links programme. The work is being extended as a part of the Project “Operational research for green logistics in Vietnam – a UK-Vietnam research collaboration”, funded by UK BEIS, under the Newton Research Collaborations Programme (3).
