TV report about the conference “The UK-Vietnam institutional link in digital innovation for sustainable maritime logistics in Vietnam”

In order to introduce the information  of cooperation in Logistics, Liverpool John Moores University and Faculty of Information Technology- Vietnam Maritime University organized a seminar “The UK-Vietnam institutional link in digital innovation for sustainable maritime logistics in Vietnam”. The participants were from universities, partners in industry, the British Embassy in Hanoi, the British Council and the project in Vietnam.

In the seminar, attendees were supplied the detailed information of the project. The project was funded by the British Council with the Newton Institutional Links progamme and  managed by Liverpool John Moores- UK.

The project has been investigating and studying the optimization problems in the ports of Vietnam and other countries, specially focusing on the particular situations and the available equipment of the ports. The project is developing the optimization systems such as Berth planning, Fleet sizing, Container stacking, Stowage planning, Container stuffing, and Simulation of container yards, etc… When finishing the designing and testing phases, the system will be applied in the various industrial partners.

On the other hand, the project will bring excellent opportunities for collaboration in education and research between universities from Vietnam and Liverpool John Moores University. The seminar also provided to students and lecturers in Vietnam the useful information regarding to the opportunities for study and research in UK. In addition, students and lecturers have chances to join Chevening Scholarships supported by the Newton Foundation being managed by the British Council.

The delegates of Liverpool John Moores Unviversity also introduced a comprehensive and modern study environment in LJMU. With more than 125 years in research, development and teaching in marine since 1892, LJMU has becomes  one of the best Logistics, Offshore and Marine Institute in UK. Livepool John Moores University is sharing experiences and in-depth researches in maritime logistics with industrial and university partners in Vietnam. It will support to develop the roadmap and the international integration of Vietnam’s ports, specifically for Hai Phong’ port.

To conclude, the seminar and the activities of the project have been improving the cooperation in “The UK-Vietnam institutional link in digital innovation for sustainable maritime logistics in Vietnam” between universities from Vietnam and Liverpool John Moores-UK.
