Hybrid Artificial Bee Algorithm and Hybrid Differential Evolutionary Algorithm for Container Loading Problems

Solving 3D-Container Loading Problems (in C, C#, VS2015) is a part of the project “UK-Vietnam institutional link in digital innovation for sustainable maritime logistics in Vietnam” funded by the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategies (BEIS) and administered by the British Council under the Newton Institutional Links programme. The work is being extended as a part of the Project “Operational research for green logistics in Vietnam – a UK-Vietnam research collaboration”, funded by the UK BEIS and administered by the Royal Academy of Engineering, under the Newton Research Collaborations Programme (3). Evolutionary Algorithms for Vehicle Routing Problems

The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is used to design an optimal route for a fleet of vehicles to service a set of customers, given a set of constraints. VRP is introduced by Dantzig and Ramser in 1959 and is of the NP-hard type. The VRP is used in supply chain management in the physical delivery of goods and services. (more…)

Fleet-sizing Optimisation Algorithm in Static and Uncertain Environments With Shuttle Transportation Tasks

This work aims to identify the optimal number of vehicles in environments with shuttle transportation tasks. These environments are very common industrial settings where goods are transferred repeatedly between multiple machines by a fleet of vehicles. (more…)
